Frequently Asked Questions
Please see the bottom of this page for more Helpful Hints.
Does Margarita Man provide the liquor for alcoholic beverages?
No, you will need to provide 2 to 3 liters of alcohol based of the strength and type of drink being made. If you want to save a little money buy the less expensive liquor and your beverages will be just as tasty!
How many drinks does one batch make?
On average, each batch makes about 5 gallons of product which will produce 75-80 eight oz. drinks. This allows for 25 people to enjoy about 3 drinks each. We suggest reviewing the mixing guide for each flavor prior to making your selection. Please note: no ice is required.
How long does it take the mix to freeze?
Depending on whether the machine is indoors or out can vary the freezing time. Our industrial barrel freezer machines will freeze within 30 minutes, and our dual-bowl granita machines will freeze a total of 6 gallons of product in 90 minutes at room temperature (75 degrees). It could take a little longer if outdoors and warmer. This is why we suggest that cold water is used when mixing the batches.
How do I purchase additional mixes if I run out during my party?
We always leave additional mixes at the bottom of the cart in case you run out. Extra mixes outside the one (1) or two (2) that come with the rental are $25 each payable at the time the machine is picked up.
Can I use my own margarita mix?
No, our mix is made exclusively for Frozen Drink Machines. Other mixes will cause damage to the machine.
What size cups do you supply?
We supply 50 eight oz. cups per machine rented. Large cups lead to waste as guests let the drink melt then throw away and get another. Also, large cups can cause machines not to keep up with the demand of the party if you have many guests.
What all is included with rental?
Rental price includes one mix, mixing bucket w/spoon, 50 cups, cart with locking wheels, skirt for cart (black), 25ft heavy duty extension cord.
Can the margarita machine operate outside?
Every machine on my rental fleet can run outside even in the summer, but there is NO GUARANTEE. I can only guarantee you a fully functioning machine but I can’t guarantee that your outdoor outlet will be able to supply machine with enough voltage. I’ll supply you with a 25ft heavy duty extension cord that can be run indoors through a window, should you have problems with your outdoor outlet.
What type of electrical connection do I need?
The machine requires a minimum 15 amp dedicated circuit. The machine should be placed near an electrical outlet (No further than 25 feet from outlet). Customers should not use their own extension cords because they can cause damage to machines & your outlet. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary then you may only use the heavy duty extension cord that I supply you with.
Do you allow customer pick-ups?
No. Each machine with cart weighs an excess of 190 lbs. To ensure your safety and safe delivery, each machine will be hand delivered by one of our associates.
How far in advance of my event should I rent a machine?
We suggest that you secure your reservation 2 to 3 weeks in advance of your party, although you are welcome to call us with last-minute requests and we will do our best to accommodate if we have availability. We suggest one month in advance during holidays and graduation season.
When do you deliver the margarita machine?
We will deliver at least 1 – 4 hours prior to event start time (2-4 hours for double machine). When you receive a confirmation email it will state that I’ll contact you within a week before your event date to discuss a convenient delivery window for all parties involved.
What are your delivery and pick-up timeframes?
For Monday thru Saturday events, we deliver between 10am – 4pm and pick-up the next day between 10am – 4pm. Sundays (10am-4pm) are reserved for pick ups only.
What if I’m unable to be home during your pickup window?
The machine must be accessible when I’m ready to pick up at the scheduled arranged time or there is a $50.00 return trip charge.
What else do you need to know?
You must notify me at the time of booking if there are any steps, stairs, or anything else that may complicate the delivery. Margarita Man doesn’t deliver to apartments (unless on ground floor or there is an elevator access).
How much are additional Mixes?
$25 for each additional mix
How easy is it to operate the machine?
The machines are very easy to operate. You will be given a tutorial on using the machine when it is delivered. We will also walk you through making the first batch of mix to make sure you get the hang of it. We will leave you with our cell phone number where you can always contact us with questions during your party.

Helpful Hints
If you have not rented a machine before, you may be surprised to learn that 50-70% of your guests will choose the frozen drinks over beer and wine. This means you can probably get by with providing less beer and wine.
We DO Not Deliver If Stairs Are Involved
Dimensions of margarita machine on cart: Width: 1.5ft – Deep: 3ft – Height: 5ft
Keep margarita machine protected in shaded area if using outdoors. Ideally, a heavy-duty tent cover to guard against direct sun, high winds and rain.
Use a dedicated 120V, 15-20 amps circuit for each machine. If you don’t know what that means, call us!
Our own heavy-duty extension cord (12 gauge) will be provided with each rental. Please do not use any other cords. Extension cord provided are typically 20 ft and should not exceed 50 feet total length.
It is highly recommended that the machine is positioned on a hard, level and stable surface. This will help prevent the machine from tipping over which could cause damage to the machine or physical injury. Note: Grass or other dirt surfaces are not considered a hard and stable surface.
Please tell us when you make your reservation if we will encounter any steps or stairways during delivery. Unfortunately, we don’t deliver to establishments where stairs are involved.
Unauthorized transportation of machine(s) will result in a $500 fine. Also, do not attempt to relocate, lift or otherwise move machines. This will prevent injury and damage to the machine.
